Amazon Music looking to compete more with it Spotify — and it may have found the perfect way to do just that.

Amazon has announced that from now on, Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers in the US, UK and Canada will be able to listen to the single. an audiobook per month from Audible’s massive library of over 1 million audiobooks.

“The addition of the audio catalog makes Amazon Music Unlimited the best place for audio entertainment — now with access to more than 100 million songs in HD sound, top-rated ad-free podcasts, and the largest catalog of audiobooks — including and music and audiobooks in local audio,” Amazon said in a press release.

Amazon aims to do Spotify

Spotify Premium subscribers have the same benefit

Amazon’s move here is undoubtedly to compete with Spotify’s audiobook subscriber perk. With the highest level of Spotify Premium, users can enjoy 15 hours of audiobook listening every month, and access to more than 250,000 audiobook titles in the music streaming giant’s catalog.

Amazon’s approach is slightly different from Spotify’s. With Music Unlimited, individual plan subscribers and family plan master account holders will be able to listen to one audiobook at a time — of any length — per month.

Amazon Music Unlimited is currently available to Prime subscribers for an additional $10 per month (or $100 per year). If you don’t subscribe to Prime, you can get Amazon Music Unlimited for $11 a month. Spotify Premium currently costs $12 per month, making Amazon’s Music Unlimited a dollar cheaper per month.

I think this is a smart move by Amazon to help level the playing field with Spotify. Additionally, if you find yourself enjoying audiobooks and want more access to them, Amazon also offers them Audible Premium Plus subscription, which gives you one free audiobook per month, but the difference is that subscribers get to keep it.
