There’s More To Remarketing Than You Think

We all know by now that remarketing is automatic when you use Advantage+ Audience or Broader with Original Audience. But we don’t underestimate how much remarketing is going on.
Let me explain…
Audience Categories
We define our engaged audiences and existing customer audience segments within advertising settings using custom audiences.
But you can’t use custom audiences for your Facebook and Instagram followers or engagement with your ads.
My audience segments are defined by website and custom customer list audiences.
Something else is happening
Let me show you something…
I create an ad set using the original audience and target remarketing teams (no expansion). In addition to the website and customer list audience, I included my Facebook and Instagram followers.
When I do audience segmentation, a large portion is dedicated to New Audiences. These will mainly come from my followers.
What does it mean
Keep this in mind that these people are not included in audience segments. We never know exactly how much organic remarketing can reach these groups. It can be more or less.
But this is a reminder that, by definition, Meta will prioritize pixel history, conversion data, and PRE-MEET YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS when using Advantage+ Audience.
