Roblox starts offering 25% extra game money on web purchases

As Apple and Google app store monetization is getting stronger globally, Roblox gaming platform has started offering 25% more Robux games for web purchases and gift cards compared to mobile platforms. In short, the company encourages users to buy Robux on the web to avoid Apple and Google paying fines for in-app purchases.
The company has confirmed the move and said it is looking at ways to provide more value to users and the creator community.
“Apple and Google are important partners. We are always looking for ways to deliver more value to our users and creator community while controlling costs. Going forward, we are offering up to +25% more Robux to any customer who purchases Robux via the web, computer, or gift cards,” a Roblox spokesperson told TechCrunch.
In a Roblox developer forum post, Roblox clarified that this is not a holiday gift but a long-term change.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeny, who has been battling Apple and Google over app store fees, He applauded this action.
“It’s great to see Roblox finally fighting the Apple tax. I hope that the current Epic v Apple contempt of court proceedings will stop Apple’s scary screens and junk costs so that all applications will send users to web-based payments and pass on savings this way,” he said on the X site.
In August, the game company launched its Epic Games store in the EU on iOS and Android worldwide. In Europe, companies are looking to launch other app stores on iOS, thanks to the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Meanwhile, startups like Appcharge, which raised $26 million at a valuation of $100 million.they help game publishers create more value outside of the Apple and Google ecosystems.
