Explore the New Features of the AI Generation in Ads Manager

[ad_1]
There are several AI-powered enhancements that are not currently part of the main Advantage+ Creative toolbox. You can opt-in to join the testing of the new features of the AI generation.
My thinking has is has has has been the focus of the improvements available within these tests. When new enhancements become available, they will likely be sent to preview. As of the time of this post, there are four enhancements that are part of this test, and this has grown rapidly over the past few weeks.
From this time, you can check the following:
- Image enlargement
- Background generation
- Improving text output
- Expand the video
Let’s discuss how you can join this test and how each booster seems to work…
Access the Tests
Go to your advertising settings.
Under “Creating Ads,” there is an Advantage+ Creative box. Click that.
You will have the option to go to “Check for new updates.” Check the box.
I haven’t found any documentation on the entry process for these exams, so the information we see here is important.
First, this…
You are eligible to test new enhancements if you are currently logged in to all Advantage+ creative enhancements. These test extensions will be tested on all eligible campaigns for this ad account.
A lot of room for interpretation here because it’s not clear to me what this means. It appears that these tests will only work if you accept all Advantage+ Creative enhancements for a particular ad.
And then this…
We may show less than 5% of your ads that appear with new promotions. This can help us improve our creative optimizations and increase the effectiveness of your ads. Turning this off will not affect your Advantage+ creative preferences.
When these optimizations are tested, they “might” make less than 5% of your ads appear. I can only imagine that Meta would have used “will” here if it really was less than 5%. But, the main thing is that there won’t be many.
Once you’ve opted in, there’s a box below that will allow you to choose which tests you want to allow.
As of this moment, I have enabled four enhancements available to me. As you can see in the early days, the Meta releases these quickly. Once I’m signed in, I’m automatically signed up for any new promotion (and you can also opt out).
If you click Schedule a Test, you can get more information about each enhancement.
Image Expansion
I can confirm that this enhancement was originally part of the main Advantage+ Creative toolbox. For whatever reason, it has been submitted for inspection.
Maybe it has some bugs to fix, but the image expansion would be a very important improvement. If you provide a square image, Meta can automatically expand it to 9 x 16 using AI.
This is not just a matter of zooming and cropping. Meta will generate up and down, as the example above shows.
The next generation
Along with image enhancement, I believe this enhancement became available about a year ago. However, my notes show that it was originally only available in catalog ads.
Not all images are eligible for this enhancement. Although the Meta doesn’t specify, my guess is that this will only work for images with solid backgrounds. Meta will then use AI to make choices with different backgrounds.
Overlay text will also be added. Although that may appear in your title, it is also possible that the recording of the text (the next feature) could be the source of this text.
Improving Text Extraction
The release of the text is a bit of a mystery. As you can see in the screenshot above, “keywords and phrases” can be taken from your original text and displayed in certain places (overlay, footer, headlines, and something called an info chip).
We have no examples of this. I’m not sure how Meta determines these keywords and phrases. Also, as mentioned in the screenshot above, you won’t get a preview of how your ads will look with this plugin.
One day, you might. But while this is a test, you will be flying blind.
Expand Video
Okay, we’re saving the best for last. The video extension is very good.
The example given by Meta is a good one. You are uploading a landscape video. Meta uses AI to do ups and downs so you have something perfect for 9 x 16.
In the example, the sky is just the top extension of the video, but it looks great. The fact that running water was produced on the ground was very advanced – there is no indication that water is present in the first video.
Should You Open These?
You will need trust, if not adventure, to unlock this. I activate all four extensions in my main ad account. If you have a sensitive client who might get upset if some of this is out of character, you might want to turn it off.
But, that’s also the case with any Advantage+ Creative development. There is trust required to use them. You can turn off any core enhancements you find problematic, but then these tests won’t be worth it.
Personally, there’s a certain amount of “letting go” I’ve had with the Advantage+ Creative enhancements. Since there is no segmentation, we can’t see how our ads are performing when a specific optimizer is used. But, when you consider all the different enhancements that can be used, the sample size of any one cannot be ignored.
I have greatly welcomed these enhancements with the understanding that they are not used often. If so, it’s because Meta thinks it will help me get better results.
If you’re a control freak, maybe don’t worry about this. One day, these features will make their way into your main Advantage+ Creative toolbox. You can call each developer at that time.
