Target Input Grid: Revised or Expanded?

[ad_1]

This grid will help…

Almost every marketer gets this wrong, so I wanted to create a reference that will make it easier.

Respectable vs. Extended Confusion

The most common point of confusion is about when your direct input is respected and when it isn’t.

In other words, there are times when your inputs are used as strict parameters. Meta will respect those opinions. And there are times when your targeted input is only seen as suggestions or the audience is expanded.

Too often, advertisers switch to Advantage+ Audience because they think they have more control over the original audience. That is usually not the case.

The grid

I created this grid as a simple reference. It looks for the following target input:

  • Minimum age
  • Great age
  • Gender
  • Location
  • Custom audiences
  • Custom viewer output
  • Spectacular audience
  • Language
  • Detailed targeting

It then highlights whether each input is respected, suggested, or expanded depending on your setup.

I include every situation based on the performance goal of Advantage+ Audience or original audience. While all performance goals are treated the same in Advantage+ Audience, there are three different scenarios when using original audiences.
