We are not three generations Apple TV 4Kand each iteration brought welcome changes from the last. Apple still hasn’t announced the fourth generation of the device at the time of this writing, but it is approaching three years since the last release, so we are getting closer to the announcement. There have been huge improvements since the release of the third generation Apple TV 4K, and it’s easy to imagine what the next generation will bring. Apple TV it would look like

It is important to note that everything mentioned here is a rumor, and some of it is a wish list. Considering that Apple hasn’t indicated that a new product is coming, you have to take everything here with a grain of salt. Apple Intelligence support

The missing flagship feature

I want to get it out of the way first and say that Apple’s biggest development in 2024 is Apple Intelligence, and it is sorely missing from all three generations of Apple TV 4K. Part of that could be due to hardware limitations, and some of it could be due to a lack of practical use. Apple Intelligence helps with typing and focusing, something you don’t need much with the Apple TV 4K. As of now, no HomeKit devices have access to the service, but it seems like it’s only a matter of time before that happens.

Improved Siri is a big deal for me as it can help me find more things to watch. Apple TV 4K doesn’t exactly need Apple Intelligence, but it’s hard to imagine a future iteration without the feature. It will require a jump in hardware, but that should be provided with a new piece of technology.

Fast hardware

Even more speed

Something that applies to all new technologies, the latest release is usually better than what came before it. The third-generation Apple TV 4K runs on Apple’s A15 processor, the same chip that powers the sixth-generation iPad Mini and select iPhone 13 and 14 models. It started in late 2021, so it will be four years old when the calendar turns to 2025. The A15 has already joined the A16, but that is also growing now.

Since Apple Arcade is something that Apple is investing in, it would make sense for the Apple TV 4K to have a beefier chip to make it a more reliable gaming machine. An Apple A18 or M4 chip would make a lot of sense to make that world a reality. While it might be a bit overwhelming with a standard streaming box, it would be great for playback and make the Apple TV 4K much faster than it usually is.

While I like the Apple TV 4K, something that works against it is the price tag. The new third-generation Apple TV 4K costs $129 for 64 GB of storage and $149 for 128 GB. If Apple could get that price down to around $100, it would be a very easy recommendation for me to make to anyone. At this rate, it’s hard to imagine what’s happening considering the hardware will be new, but it’s something I’d welcome with open arms.

Moving away from Apple, the $100 price tag is something other companies are able to hit on a regular basis. I Google Streamer 4Ka Chromecast replacement, it costs $99.99, a price that makes it an easy pill to swallow. It’s great for people who already buy into the Google ecosystem. Using it like I did can help lower the price, but you may have to settle for an older version.

In the endless battle to choose a streaming service, Apple TV 4K has finally come out on top as my favorite — here’s why.

Lots of storage

An extra room never hurt anyone

While 128 GB is plenty of space in most cases, if the next-generation Apple TV 4K ends up being a solid gaming device, then the extra space could come in handy. Current models don’t offer a way to add more storage via a hard drive or SD card, so you get what you get. Although it is difficult to fill an entire device with applications, it can be a problem for people who like to download things. This can come in the form of games and screen savers, so if you’re someone who just uses it to stream movies and shows, the extra space won’t matter much.

The new third-generation Apple TV 4K costs $129 for 64 GB of storage and $149 for 128 GB.

Another thing to be aware of is jumping to 256 GB, the next logical step after 128 GB, can lead to the other exceeds the price. The current Apple TV 4K has a $20 price difference depending on the size. Apple could add a third storage size or change the $150 version to 256 GB Apple TV 4K and replace the smaller 64 GB option with 128 GB. It’s all speculation at the moment, but if Apple continues to push the boundaries and make the Apple TV 4K a gaming device, the extra space would be greatly appreciated.
